We all strive to feel like we belong. We join clubs, participate in movements, raise money for causes, and want people to like us. All of these have one thing in common: a sense of belonging that comes from being part of something bigger than yourself.
In the book of Acts, we read about how the Early Church, the first people besides Jesus' disciples who followed Jesus, created a sense of belonging. Their welcoming presence impacted the communities they were a part of. They were willing to sacrifice for one another and care for everyone. Lives were changed by simply inviting people to be part of what was happening. What would it look like for people to see the Church today and feel welcome? It's possible, and it could start with you!
Today, pray about how you can invite someone to feel a sense of belonging that you may not normally include.
