Think about some of your favorite gifts you've ever received. Maybe some of you still have or use these gifts, and maybe some of you don't use these gifts. Maybe the excitement of the gift isn't what it was when you first got the gift. It happens. We get excited about a gift or hobby, then time passes, and we move to other things. So if we are like this with gifts, could this happen with our excitement to follow Jesus?
In the Bible, we learn about a man named Saul. He was a man who hated Jesus' followers. He went out of his way to harm the people who believed in Jesus. Then, Saul had a moment that would change his life — he encountered Jesus in the middle of the road. After this experience, he committed his life to follow Jesus. Even though Saul has this huge life change, he stays faithful to following Jesus. In life, we'll go through good and tough times when following Jesus. One way to stay committed to following Jesus is to find a group of people who want you to remain committed to following Jesus. These people can support you when it's hard to follow Jesus.
Who might these people be in your life? Ask God to show you who these people could be if you don't have anyone.

About this Plan
Some things are hard to understand — like chemistry or verb conjugations. When we face a problem we're struggling to understand, it helps to know someone we trust can explain it to us. Jesus spent time helping his followers understand difficult ideas about God. Jesus did this by using stories and metaphors, called parables. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum we’ll unpack Jesus’ teachings.
