Jesus Loves Sinners
But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish. Psalm 9:18
There was a short man named Zacchaeus. He was among the crowd of people who wanted to see Jesus. It was very crowded and he could not see Jesus. Suddenly, he got an idea! He climbed up a tree to be able to see Jesus.
Jesus noticed this and He told Zacchaeus to come down from the tree and that He was going to his house for a meal. Jesus’ request shocked everyone because Zacchaeus was a tax collector and many people disliked him!
Zacchaeus might be rich, but deep down he knew he lacked something. Zacchaeus needed love and hope. As he was touched by Jesus’ love, Zacchaeus became a changed person. He told Jesus he would give half of all he owned to the poor and repay anyone he had cheated by four times the amount.
Jesus never abandons the sinners and the needy like us. Jesus’ love embraces us so we can be forgiven, we can repent, and live on the right path of life.
Prayer
Dear God, let my heart be full of Your love so I can be a vessel of Your love for others. Amen.
