 Week Four - Day One -  I Praise God

Welcome to our ‘Run the Race’ Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey through the Bible.  We are taking a look at some people in the Bible to find out how they ‘Run the Race’ that God set before them.  Each of us has a ‘Race to Run’, something that God has made us for.  Our ‘Race’ is like a lane on the running track but the best, most exciting thing is, we get to ‘Run our Race’ together with God and He provides EVERYTHING that we need to complete our Race!

This week we are going to be looking at David's life, why God chose him to be King, how God watched over him and how by the end of his life David had written so many songs about God - David loved to praise God. 

READ:

A Good Heart - in the Beginners Bible - (Pages 168-172) or 1 Samuel 15:1 - 16:13

God sent Samuel to a man named Jesse to look for a new King - Jesse had many sons.

When Samuel met Jesse he said - “I would like to meet your sons.”

God knew which son he wanted to be King - but Samuel did not know which one God would choose and so had to meet all of the sons. 

God so easily could have told Samuel which son to choose, but God wanted Samuel to listen to God and be led by Him. 

Remember God’s plan is the best plan and we can always Praise God, because He is always good! 

ASK:

How do you like to praise God?  

Have a think about this then spend some time today praising God - remember to ask your grownup to send us some photos of you doing this to @freedomkidsglobal 

REMEMBER:

‘So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is set before us and never give up’ (Hebrews 12:1) 

SAY:

I am an overcomer  

I can run my race

I can raise a happy sound.

His people all around.

My God has given me everything

He is faithful and true,

With my eyes firmly fixed on Him

His power will get me through!
