 Week Four - Day Six -  I Praise God

Welcome to our ‘Run the Race’ Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey through the Bible.  We are taking a look at some people in the Bible to find out how they ‘Run the Race’ that God set before them.  Each of us has a ‘Race to Run’, something that God has made us for.  Our ‘Race’ is like a lane on the running track but the best, most exciting thing is, we get to ‘Run our Race’ together with God and He provides EVERYTHING that we need to complete our Race!

We can all praise God, it is what we have been made for! 

READ:

A Good Heart - in the Beginners Bible - (Pages 168-172) or 1 Samuel 15:1 - 16:13

David was very young when Samuel first anointed him and with the power of God, David went on to do so many wonderful things! 

With God’s power David was able to take care of his father's sheep and fight the bear and the lion. 

Go to the front line of the battle against the Philistines and fight and defeat Goliath the enemy of God’s people. 

David served King Saul and became very good friends with his children, Prince Jonanthan and Princess Michal - you can read all about David’s life in the Beginners Bible pages 173 - 185. 

ASK:

Can you think of some of the wonderful things you are able to do with God’s power? 

Maybe you could write a song, like David did, to tell everyone about the wonderful things God helps you to do?

REMEMBER:

‘So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is set before us and never give up’ (Hebrews 12:1) 

SAY:

I am an overcomer  

I can run my race

I can raise a happy sound.

His people all around.

My God has given me everything

He is faithful and true,

With my eyes firmly fixed on Him

His power will get me through!
