Run the Raceサンプル
Week Five - Day Three - God Helps Me
Welcome to our ‘Run the Race’ Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey through the Bible. We are taking a look at some people in the Bible to find out how they ‘Run the Race’ that God set before them. Each of us has a ‘Race to Run’, something that God has made us for. Our ‘Race’ is like a lane on the running track but the best, most exciting thing is, we get to ‘Run our Race’ together with God and He provides EVERYTHING that we need to complete our Race!
God was preparing to take Elijah to heaven - Elijah had ‘Run the Race’ God had set before him.
READ:
‘Chariot of Fire’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 216 - 221) or in 1 Kings 19:19-21 and 2 Kings 2:1-13.
Elijah was getting older and God was preparing to take him to Heaven. God had a special plan for Elisha to help him.
God always has the best plan for us - even when we cannot see what the plan may be, we can trust God’s plan.
God will always be with us and will send others to help us - in our remember scripture it tells us - ‘So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means’.
ASK:
Who do you have in your life that you can look at and see that their life tells you what faith means?
Chat to your grownup about these people - how can you encourage them today?
Maybe you could send them a card to say thank you?
REMEMBER:
‘So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is set before us and never give up’ (Hebrews 12:1)
SAY:
I am an overcomer
I can run my race
I can raise a happy sound.
His people all around.
My God has given me everything
He is faithful and true,
With my eyes firmly fixed on Him
His power will get me through!
In Jesus name, Amen.
