Run the Raceサンプル
Week Five - Day Six - God Helps Me
Welcome to our ‘Run the Race’ Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey through the Bible. We are taking a look at some people in the Bible to find out how they ‘Run the Race’ that God set before them. Each of us has a ‘Race to Run’, something that God has made us for. Our ‘Race’ is like a lane on the running track but the best, most exciting thing is, we get to ‘Run our Race’ together with God and He provides EVERYTHING that we need to complete our Race!
The chariot of fire had just taken his friend up to heaven, all that was left was his coat….
READ:
‘Chariot of Fire’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 216 - 221) or in 1 Kings 19:19-21 and 2 Kings 2:1-13.
Elijah's coat fell to the ground, Elisha picked it up.
This is the coat that Elijah had used to hit the river with and the river parted.
Did Elisha get the ‘Double Portion of God’s spirit’ that he had asked for?
Elisha hit the water with the coat and the water parted! God is good! God helped Elisha.
ASK:
Have you ever seen someone do something awesome and thought you would love to be able to do that?
Have a chat to your grownup about what this may be, then spend some time praying about this.
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see - read Hebrews 11:1 with your grownup.
REMEMBER:
‘So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is set before us and never give up’ (Hebrews 12:1)
SAY:
I am an overcomer
I can run my race
I can raise a happy sound.
His people all around.
My God has given me everything
He is faithful and true,
With my eyes firmly fixed on Him
His power will get me through!
In Jesus name, Amen.
