 Week Six - Day Seven - I can Run my Race

Welcome to our ‘Run the Race’ Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey through the Bible.  We are taking a look at some people in the Bible to find out how they ‘Run the Race’ that God set before them.  Each of us has a ‘Race to Run’, something that God has made us for.  Our ‘Race’ is like a lane on the running track but the best, most exciting thing is, we get to ‘Run our Race’ together with God and He provides EVERYTHING that we need to complete our Race!

READ:

John Baptises Jesus  in the Beginners Bible (pages 303 - 307 ) or in Matthew 3:1-17, Mark 1:1-11, Luke 3:1-22 or John 1:1-34.

John lived his life loving God and telling others about how wonderful God is. 

John was ‘Running the Race’ that God had planned for him - he knew God and was following all that God wanted for his life. 

We can ‘Run the Race’ God has planned for us when we get to know Him through His word and spend time with him and follow Him. 

God has given us so many people around us to help us see what it looks like to spend our lives following Him.  So let's ‘Run the Race that God has set before us and never give up!’

ASK:

Have you told Jesus that you want to follow him for the rest of your life? 

Have a chat with your grownups and see if this is something you want to do. 

If it is you can say this simple prayer - 

Dear Jesus, thank you for forgiving me for all the things I have done wrong.  I believe in my heart that you died for me and that you came back to life.  I love you and will live for you every single day of my life.  Thank you for loving me and saving me.  Amen

REMEMBER:

‘So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is set before us and never give up’ (Hebrews 12:1) 

SAY:

I am an overcomer  

I can run my race

I can raise a happy sound.

His people all around.

My God has given me everything

He is faithful and true,

With my eyes firmly fixed on Him

His power will get me through!
