Run the Raceサンプル
Week Four - Day Seven - I Praise God
Welcome to our ‘Run the Race’ Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey through the Bible. We are taking a look at some people in the Bible to find out how they ‘Run the Race’ that God set before them. Each of us has a ‘Race to Run’, something that God has made us for. Our ‘Race’ is like a lane on the running track but the best, most exciting thing is, we get to ‘Run our Race’ together with God and He provides EVERYTHING that we need to complete our Race!
David was now King - he loved God and wrote many songs of praise…..
READ:
King David - in the Beginners Bible - (Pages 186 - 189) or 2 Samuel 1:1 - 2:4
David became King of Israel many years after Samuel anointed him - but David never forgot that God had created him to be wonderful and to ‘Run the Race’ with Him.
David wrote many songs about God called Psalms - you can find them in the Bible.
You can read one of the most famous Psalms that David wrote in the Beginners Bible Pages 190 - 193 - The Lord is my Shepherd - Psalm 23.
David loved to sing and praise God, but he also praised God with how he loved others, how he always tried to obey God and Run the Race that God had given him to run.
David was filled with God’s power and Ran his Race with God, he lived his life saying thank you to God through his praise - David never gave up - we can do the same.
ASK:
How can you praise God today? How can you ‘Run your Race’ with God?
Spend some time praising God and giving thanks for how wonderful He is today.
REMEMBER:
‘So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is set before us and never give up’ (Hebrews 12:1)
SAY:
I am an overcomer
I can run my race
I can raise a happy sound.
His people all around.
My God has given me everything
He is faithful and true,
With my eyes firmly fixed on Him
His power will get me through!
In Jesus name, Amen.
