Week Four - Day Four - I Praise God
Welcome to our ‘Run the Race’ Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey through the Bible. We are taking a look at some people in the Bible to find out how they ‘Run the Race’ that God set before them. Each of us has a ‘Race to Run’, something that God has made us for. Our ‘Race’ is like a lane on the running track but the best, most exciting thing is, we get to ‘Run our Race’ together with God and He provides EVERYTHING that we need to complete our Race!
As soon as David arrived God told Samuel - ‘He is the one!’

Jesse sent for David to come and meet Samuel - maybe because David was so young, Jesse did not think that he would be considered to be a King? Remember, God doesn’t look at the outside of us, He looks at our heart.
As soon as David arrived God told Samuel “He is the one I want to be the next King.” - God created David, He knew that David loved Him, that David loved to praise Him, that David had everything that God wanted in the next King.
God knew the plans He had for David - God also knows the plans He has for you! - Go read Jeremiah 29:11 again.
ASK:
You may be thinking, or you may have been told, that you are too young to do certain things? But you are never too young to start praising God!
Think of some more ways that you can praise God - is it a song? Is it a picture? Is it some quiet time with God? Is it being kind to those around us? Is it helping in the house? Ask your grownups to send us your ideas on Facebook or Instagram,
REMEMBER:
‘So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is set before us and never give up’ (Hebrews 12:1)
SAY:
I am an overcomer
I can run my race
I can raise a happy sound.
His people all around.
My God has given me everything
He is faithful and true,
With my eyes firmly fixed on Him
His power will get me through!
