Week Four - Day Three - I Praise God
Welcome to our ‘Run the Race’ Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey through the Bible. We are taking a look at some people in the Bible to find out how they ‘Run the Race’ that God set before them. Each of us has a ‘Race to Run’, something that God has made us for. Our ‘Race’ is like a lane on the running track but the best, most exciting thing is, we get to ‘Run our Race’ together with God and He provides EVERYTHING that we need to complete our Race!
Samuel met Jesse’s sons but could not see who God wanted to be the next King…..

Samuel had met all of Jesse's sons but had not found the one that God wanted to be the next King!
Samuel asked Jesse - do you have another son? Sometimes God will want us to look further than what we first see - God wants us to always ask Him for help.
Jesse explained that he had another son, his name is David, but he is out in the field looking after the sheep - for some this would be a boring, unimportant job, but not for David - let's find out why…...
David loved God, whilst he looked after the sheep for his father he would make up songs and sing praise to God. Even when we are busy working we can praise God. Praise is more than singing songs - but it is one way that we can praise God.
ASK:
Can you think of ways that you can praise God today?
Have a little chat with your grownup and see if you can think of some creative ways to praise God today. Remember to ask your grownups to take some photos of you doing this and share them with us on Facebook or Instagram.
REMEMBER:
‘So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is set before us and never give up’ (Hebrews 12:1)
SAY:
I am an overcomer
I can run my race
I can raise a happy sound.
His people all around.
My God has given me everything
He is faithful and true,
With my eyes firmly fixed on Him
His power will get me through!
In Jesus name, Amen.
