Week Three - Day Seven - God Speaks to Me
Welcome to our ‘Run the Race’ Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey through the Bible. We are taking a look at some people in the Bible to find out how they ‘Run the Race’ that God set before them. Each of us has a ‘Race to Run’, something that God has made us for. Our ‘Race’ is like a lane on the running track but the best, most exciting thing is, we get to ‘Run our Race’ together with God and He provides EVERYTHING that we need to complete our Race!
Samuel answered when God called him - ‘Yes, Lord, I am listening - God then gave Samuel a wonderful opportunity to take messages to God’s people!

When Samuel answered God and let Him know he was listening God started to give Samuel messages for His people.
Samuel was a special Prophet of God - A Prophet is someone that God will give messages to take to people to encourage them.
God’s plan was always that Samuel would be a Prophet and serve Him always. Even before Samuel was born God had a plan for Samuel -
- God knew that Samuel would be born to Hannah,
- Hannah would promise God that Samuel would serve Him all his life,
- Eli would help Samuel to hear God’s voice
- Samuel would take messages to God’s people!
God’s plan is always the best plan! God made sure that Samuel had many people of faith around him, that their lives would tell Samuel what faith means, so that Samuel could ‘Run the Race’ that God had set before him and never give up - this is God’s plan for you also!
ASK:
God has a wonderful plan for your life - can you see all of the wonderful things God has given you to help you ‘Run the Race’ that He has set before you?
Spend some time today thanking God for everything He has given you today.
REMEMBER:
‘So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is set before us and never give up’ (Hebrews 12:1)
SAY:
I am an overcomer
I can run my race
I can raise a happy sound.
His people all around.
My God has given me everything
He is faithful and true,
With my eyes firmly fixed on Him
His power will get me through!
