God's ImitatorsSample
Picked last?
As kids, you know the desperate fear of being picked last--for just about anything. For kickball, soccer, basketball teams, partners for school projects. Even if you aren't picked last, just worrying about it can make you wish you had stayed at home sick that day, doesn't it?
I hate to tell you this, but even adults worry about not getting picked. What if they don't get the job? What if no one ever loves them enough to want to marry them?
Every day you wake up, though, your God tells you that you never have to worry. "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart" (Jeremiah 1:5).
At the creation of the world, God knew you would be born and He said you would be His. He set you apart, which means He thought you were valuable enough to choose to be His own. For the rest of your life, you get to walk around knowing that you are so special to God that He wanted you on His team. Thanks to Jesus, you are God's first pick.
