Run and never give up
Are you an Olympics junkie? I am! I love watching the best athletes in the world as they compete for gold medals. So would you expect a track star to show up for her race wearing a winter hat, mittens, jacket, snow pants, and boots? You'd think she was crazy, wouldn't you? No one who wants to win would even consider wearing such bulky clothes. She'd be sure to lose!
God wants us to think about the clothes we wear for our personal life Olympics. "We must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially sin that distracts us. We must run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up" (Hebrews 12:1).
As you are running your life race, what sin slows you down? What habits, hobbies, or friendships are tangling around your legs and causing you to stumble? Running is no fun when you are too hot and sweaty and wearing bulky clothes. Throw it all off and enjoy the race.
Oh! In God's race, He wants everyone to get the gold. So as you run, encourage the runners next to you. Let's get as many people to the finish line as possible.
