God's ImitatorsSample
You get the victory
I bet you've logged a number of hours at Chuck E. Cheese. (Who doesn't love pizza and games?) Many kids' favorite part is grabbing their mountains of tickets and running to the counter to claim their prizes. I always feel a little bad for the one who only gets a handful of tickets because he isn't good at Skee-Ball. He ends up with the smallest trinket that inevitably breaks on the ride home.
I'm wondering if you know what that kid feels like. Maybe you don't have the same amount of talents or smarts as other kids and you feel there's no prize. Well, if we made the rules, that's how the game would end. But God changed the rules. He knew we would never be able to earn our own prizes to get to heaven, so He sent Jesus to play the game for us. Jesus came, was tempted like we are, but lived a perfect life. Then He took your sins on a cross and died, burying them with Him. When He rose, He defeated Satan.
God hands you all the tickets that are chugging out of the machine and says, "Go to my prize counter. Heaven is waiting for you." I love that we get to say, "Thank God that He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 15:57).
