Stay focused on Jesus Have you ever watched any of those TV shows about Africa? I live in the city and don't really get to see many wild animals, so something about giraffes and zebras and wildebeests gets my attention. But you know what I think is really cool? The lioness. Maybe this is a little strange, but I love watching a lioness stalk her prey. Have you seen that? She sits and stares and stares and stares at a gazelle--who has no idea the lioness is even there. The lioness pays no attention to anything on either side of her, but with laser-beam vision never takes her eyes off her prey. That's the same kind of focus we have on Jesus. The apostle Paul encourages, "We must focus on Jesus, the source and goal of our faith. He saw the joy ahead of Him, so He endured death on the cross and ignored the disgrace it brought him. Then He received the highest position in heaven, the one next to the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:2). Just like a lioness, don't take your eyes off Jesus. Don't let anything distract you from Him. Fix on Him. He is the One who started your faith, He makes it grow, and He gets you to heaven. That is worth our attention.
