God's ImitatorsSample
Love God
"Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength" (Deuteronomy 6:5).
Boy, that's a tall order, isn't it? Love God--with every single fiber of your whole being. Yikes! I don't blame you if that makes you nervous. But I've got to tell you, the other option scares me more. If you don't love God with everything, it means that you love other stuff more--and that alternative is unacceptable.
As a baptized child of God, you are covered with Christ. And so you do love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. It's just that you forget sometimes--and put school, friends, family, TV, and video games first in your life. Knowing that Jesus completely forgives you for those times, every morning you have the courage to say, "My heart is set on keeping Your decrees to the very end" (Psalm 119:112 NIV).
