God's ImitatorsSample
You are a hyper-conqueror
Did you know that the Nike swoosh is one of the most recognized symbols in the whole world? You recognize it on shoes and shirts and shorts and socks.
What you might not recognize is that the Greek word for Nike is in the Bible. You'll find it in Romans 8:37: "In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us" (NIV).
The Greek word for "conquer" was the inspiration for Nike shoes. The company wants you to think you can conquer anything, simply because you wear its shoes. However, Jesus is the only one who can guarantee you will "nike."
What's cool is that not only will you conquer, but you will "more than" conquer. In Greek, "more than" actually means "hyper." So here God is telling you that you can hyper-conquer all things that come at you. Jesus hyper-conquered Satan when He died on a cross, so His love also hyper-conquers our failures, weaknesses, challenges, and temptations. From now on nothing can take God's love away from you. Thank you, Jesus, that we get to hyper-nike!
