On Mission

DAY 9 OF 15

What is a disciple? A disciple is someone who follows Jesus. In the Great Commission, our mission from Jesus, He says, “Go and make disciples.” How do we make disciples?

We make disciples when we share about Jesus and help others live their lives for Christ. Telling someone about Jesus doesn’t mean our mission is done, it’s only the beginning. Making disciples means we help others not just know about Jesus but help them to live for Him.

Think about how people have helped you learn how to pray, read the Bible, and worship God. Think about how others have encouraged you, stood with you in tough times, and shown you God’s love. We make disciples when we can do that for others too. Ask the Holy Spirit to be with you and help you as you tell others about Jesus, helping them live a life for Christ.

Living ‘On Mission’ doesn’t mean we give up school and sport and our friends because we have to focus on our mission. In fact, it means we do those things all the more. We are ‘On Mission’ when we are living our lives, going to school and sports and spending time with our friends. We don’t all need to be missionaries that travel to far away places to tell people about Jesus. Your mission field is right where you live, where you go to school, the people you meet and interact with. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you opportunities and to help you tell people about Jesus.

About this Plan

On Mission

Before Jesus went to heaven He gave His disciples a mission to tell others about Him. We have that same mission today, to share the good news about Jesus. This 15-Day plan explores the Great Commission, our mission to tell others about Jesus, how the Holy Spirit empowers us for this mission, and how we can live our lives ‘On Mission’ for Jesus!
