On Mission

DAY 14 OF 15

There are 195 countries in the world right now. Some are huge and cover a big part of the globe, while others are tiny and may not even be shown on some printed maps. Each country has different cultures, speak different languages, and may even have different food!

When Jesus gave His disciples the mission to tell the world about Him, the entire population of the known world was around 300 million, roughly the size of the United States today. Even in Jesus’ day, preaching the gospel to that many people would have been a huge mission, and today it’s even bigger. Now there’s almost 8 billion people on Earth!

Living our lives ‘On Mission’ means being ready to share the gospel to anyone at any time. You never know when an opportunity might come up. Someone could ask you a question, start a discussion about faith or you might see that it’s a good time to ask someone if you could pray for them. This might happen when you’re feeling good, confident and ready, but it might happen when you’re tired, in a rush or distracted. The Bible calls this being ready ‘in season and out of season’. You don’t need to get it perfect, but focus on being kind and true. You can always ask someone if they want to know more or if they want to keep talking another time.

Keep reading your Bible, spending time with Jesus and asking Him for wisdom. Then you’ll be ready to live your life ‘On Mission’.

About this Plan

On Mission

Before Jesus went to heaven He gave His disciples a mission to tell others about Him. We have that same mission today, to share the good news about Jesus. This 15-Day plan explores the Great Commission, our mission to tell others about Jesus, how the Holy Spirit empowers us for this mission, and how we can live our lives ‘On Mission’ for Jesus!
