When we are stressed or scared, and someone says to us, "Hey, I'm here for you," it's like you can feel your stress and worries slowly leave. These simple yet profound words can give us peace. This is an example of the power of words. If these words can bring us peace, could you imagine what it would be like to hear God's words?
Today's verses come from King Solomon's wisdom, who wrote the book of Proverbs. Solomon says, "Every word of God is flawless at the end of the passage." This means that whenever we hear God speak, whether through reading the Bible, listening to a sermon, or however God chooses to speak, we can rely on those words to bring us comfort, peace, guidance, and healing. Not only can they help, but they are true. Sometimes we might not know the right words to say or what to listen to, but we can always count on God's words to be true and helpful.
Today, pray about how God's words can help you get clarity when you're confused, courage when you're afraid, guidance when you feel lost, and comfort when you're hurting.

About this Plan
Some things are hard to understand — like chemistry or verb conjugations. When we face a problem we're struggling to understand, it helps to know someone we trust can explain it to us. Jesus spent time helping his followers understand difficult ideas about God. Jesus did this by using stories and metaphors, called parables. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum we’ll unpack Jesus’ teachings.
