Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Abundant Joy"Sample
God’s blessings come in many forms. It can be peace in times of trouble, financial sufficiency, health, a supporting and encouraging family, even the air we breathe freely every day is a blessing.
Often, we overlook the ordinary things in life as a blessing from God. Those blessings supposedly fill our lives with abundant joy. Unfortunately, we discount the meaning of blessings as receiving something that we want. So, when God gives us something different from our expectations, we do not see it as a blessing, even though we know that God gives it for a greater reason beyond our understanding.
Let the verse we read today serve as a reminder that God’s blessing is always present in our lives. Receive His blessings with a thankful heart and learn to trust in Him when the blessing we receive is not in the form we had expected. Walk with joy because His blessings are with us.
Devotion for Parents
Are you in the season where you don’t feel that God blesses you? Take a moment to pause and think whether God really does not bless you, or do His blessings come in a different form that you don’t recognize?
Devotion for Kids
God blesses us abundantly. His blessing may be small or may be big. Some are unrecognizable because you are expecting something else. Remember that His blessings are with you every step of the way. Give thanks to God for He is good.
Family Devotion Time
Discuss with your family the moments (or events) that may look more like a tragedy than a blessing.
How did that moment turn into a blessing, which if you look back, is beyond your comprehension?
Pray together over the experience you are in right now that may not look like a blessing, so that you can come to God, together as a family, and truly trust, hope, and be thankful to God for what happens.
