Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Abundant Joy"Sample
Do you know the difference between being lucky and being blessed? We often hear people say, “You’re so lucky!” or “Wow, you’re on a lucky streak!” As believers, we do not count on luck, but we believe in God’s blessings and plans for us.
God pays attention to our every step. Every season in our lives happens because He allows it to happen. When we learn to put our hope only in Him, then we shall see His wonderful plans for our lives. Just like the verse we read earlier, our hope will turn to abundant joy. Why? Because God has prepared the best for us.
Whatever you are facing right now, keep the faith, put your hope and trust in Him. Lift your thanksgiving to God for whatever is happening for we know that His plan is to prosper us and not to harm us. There’s no coincidence because He has planned everything well. In the end, we can say, “Thank You, God. I am so very blessed indeed.”
Devotion for Parents
If we count on our luck, we will see every opportunity as a coincidence. And so often we will feel that we are unlucky when an opportunity passes us by.
We are reminded today that we are blessed. Being blessed means we know that God has a wonderful plan prepared for us.
How are you today? Don’t stop hoping and trusting God. Let that hope turn to abundant joy in your life.
Devotion for Kids
There are no coincidences in life, for God loves us so and He has the best and the most wonderful things in store for us. The question is, do we want to put our hope and trust in Him? Do we want to rely on Him in everything that we are facing? Sometimes we depend so much on our own strength instead of God’s.
Today, let us put our hope and trust in God. Bring your requests to God and believe that God will give the best for you.
Family Devotion Time
Play a game that uses a blindfold. For example, drawing or putting on lipstick with a blindfold on.
Choose one family member to have their eyes blindfolded and ask another family member to give directions for a given task.
This game teaches us that sometimes even when we can’t “see” God’s plan in our lives, we can still put our hope and trust in Him completely. Then, we shall experience His joy and blessings overflowing in our lives.

About this Plan
Maintaining joy in our life is not easy, especially when there are so many challenges and difficulties occur. However, the real joy comes from God who will enable us to rejoice in Him. Through this devotional, we invite parents and children to ponder on various verses in God's word about joy and practice them in daily life.
