Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Abundant Joy"Sample

Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Abundant Joy"

DAY 12 OF 28

After learning about giving thanks for what we have, today we will learn about giving thanks for what Jesus has done for us. Pause and think of all the wonderful things God has given to us. Above all, He gave Himself to save us.

Have you ever thought of dying for someone else? When our child is sick, as a parent we say, “I wish it was me instead of my kid.” But, are we willing to take the place of our child and receive the punishment meant for them to the point of death? God is the same way with his children.

Jesus did that for us. He died in our place. He took our sins and freed us from the punishment meant for us. He accepted all the bad treatment just so that we don’t have to. Oh, how much He loves us!

As we remember His sacrifice, it is only fitting for us to be thankful again and again.

Devotion for Parents
Without Jesus’ sacrifice, all we do in this world would be in vain. Because of His sacrifice, we have an eternal destination, a clear pathway and we know what we should do.

Let’s explain this concept to our kids. Let them know that Jesus’ sacrifice is something beyond wonderful and they should be grateful for that.

Devotion for Kids
We heard about Jesus dying for our sake, but what’s the benefit for us? How could His death and resurrection change our lives?

Discuss this with your parents. Ask any questions you may have and make sure you understand this.

Family Devotion Time
Today, let’s focus on His goodness that we have experienced in our lives, especially His sacrifice that set us free from the bondage of sin. Give thanks to God and lift up your thanksgiving wholeheartedly.
