Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Abundant Joy"Sample

Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Abundant Joy"

DAY 11 OF 28

Every person is born with their own uniqueness. Some have very thick hair. Some have fair skin. Some have blue eyes. Some have slender fingers and there are many more differences. All those features are special and unique. Unfortunately, we overlook our own uniqueness and we see them as flaws and imperfections. Some people even hate themselves because they can’t see themselves as special.

Did you know that God formed you with His own hands? He paid attention to every single detail when He created you. He didn’t create you recklessly, but He did it wholeheartedly. He made you and me in the image of God. So, it is impossible for us to be less than wonderful, isn’t it?

When you learn to be thankful, be thankful for your features. Be thankful for your face, hair, and every part of your body. Be thankful because God made you special. Be thankful for there’s nothing ugly in His eyes about you. You are wonderful and valuable to God.

Devotion for Parents
Our children see what we do with our bodies. When we take good care of our body by consuming the right nutrition, being grateful with every curve and edge, they will understand that their body is just as important and they will take care of it the way we do with ours.

On the other hand, when we lack self-confidence or focus on our imperfection and when we are not giving the best for our body, then they will see their body to be less important and not special.

Have you shown your children how special and wonderful your body and yourself personally are?

Devotion for Kids
Everyone is special and wonderful. Yes, we may have our weaknesses, but those weaknesses are a part of us that makes us a wonder in the sight of God.

Have you been thankful for your body today? Or do you feel that you are less special compared to your friends?

Look in the mirror and see your own reflection. You are special. Find that uniqueness God has put in just for you. Be thankful.

Family Devotion Time
Find old family pictures, especially when the children were still newborns. Show their growth. As you flip through pages of pictures, remember every good memory captured in each photo.

Show them that each family member is special. Each has its own set of strengths and weaknesses.
