Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Abundant Joy"Sample

Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Abundant Joy"

DAY 20 OF 28

THANK YOU!

Two simple words but powerful. The word “thank you” shows a grateful and joyful heart. Words that express sincerity and appreciation to what we have received.

The question is, how often do we say it to God and others around us? Sometimes we don’t say it because we feel that it’s the other people, or even God’s, responsibility to do so. Well, actually, they can choose not to say it.

Saying “thank you” should be a habit that we practice often. No matter how small, saying “thank you” shows that we acknowledge the blessing and God’s goodness and faithfulness in our lives.

Have you said your “thank you” today?

Devotion for Parents
As adults, we sometimes forget to say “thank you” especially to our kids. When we ask them to do something for us, we see it as their responsibility to obey us. But today, we learned another level of parenting, which is to appreciate our kids for everything they do. Say “thank you” sincerely.

Devotion for Kids
There are a few magic words that are important for us to know and speak. One of them is THANK YOU.

Let’s learn to say “thank you” to everyone no matter how small the favor that we receive. Saying this word doesn’t cost you anything. Not saying it, on the other hand, may upset others and even God who has done so many things for us.

Family Devotion Time
Invite each family member to say “thank you” to one another.

For example, “Thank you .. for ..” and “Thank you .. because you’ve ..”

Say as many “thank you” -s as you’d like and feel the warmth grow in your family as you speak with sincerity.
