Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Abundant Joy"

DAY 23 OF 28

No one knows when our last day on earth will be. No one knows when we will return to the Father’s home in heaven. But one thing we know, every day we are alive is an opportunity to enjoy the goodness of God and to receive His blessings.

In other words, for as long as we shall live, we are given the chance to give thanks to God. Through every experience and every problem, we lift up our thanksgiving to God and see His miracles come to pass.

Take the time today to give thanks to God, especially for the blessings of being alive, enjoying the free air, being able to breathe, and walking alongside God.

Devotion for Parents
Of all the blessings we have received from God, sometimes we forgot to be thankful for this gift of being ALIVE. It feels like a “should-have” and we take it for granted. If you are still alive today, that’s a gift from God.

What have you done with your life that shows your thankfulness to God? Give your best while you still can.

Devotion for Kids
Imagine having to pay for every bit of air we breathe in. How much money do you think we would pay? Be thankful that God has given the air we breathe for free. Be thankful that you are still alive and by being alive, you are given the chance to do many things. Be thankful. Live well. Every day.

Family Devotion Time
Play this game “Holding Your Breath the Longest”

Do it a few times and recap on today’s devotion.

Be thankful that you can still breathe freely and are able to do your activities.

Make the commitment to live well as your way of showing God that you are grateful for this life He has given.
