 Week Six - Day Six - I Belong to Something Amazing

Welcome to our ‘Born For This’ devotional. We are so excited to dig into what this means over the next few weeks, as we look at different people in the Bible who followed the plan God had for them. God has an amazing plan for you, too! He made you to be his special son or daughter, and He’s put so much precious gold inside of you to help you with His plan! We can thrive because we are born for this!

READ:

‘The First Church’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 480-483) or in Acts 2:42-47.

The first church ate meals together. 

I don’t know about you, but I love getting to eat food together with my friends! We get to talk and laugh, and enjoy spending time together. Friendships are really important to God, and eating meals together is a great way to grow our friendships. 

They also celebrated the Lord’s Supper together (that’s when we have communion - the bread and juice). They spent time together to remember that Jesus died for them and made a way to get to Heaven. 

We often have communion in our churches to celebrate this too. We are so grateful to Jesus, and we remember this by eating bread and drinking juice.

ASK:

Why don’t you ask your big person about communion? 

Maybe you could celebrate communion together as a family this week. 

REMEMBER:

I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way.

What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well. (Psalm 139:14)

SAY:

I Can Thrive

With you in my life.

All you create,

Is wonderful and great. 

I will recall all you have done, 

The battles that have been won. 

I am fearless in my quest,

For I am Born for This.
