Week Six - Day One - I Belong to Something Amazing

Welcome to our ‘Born For This’ devotional. We are so excited to search for treasure in the Bible over the next few weeks, as we look at different people who followed the plan God had for them. God has an amazing plan for you, too! He made you to be his special son or daughter, and He’s put so much precious treasure inside of you to help you with His plan! We can thrive because we are born for this!

‘The First Church’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 480-483) or in Acts 2:42-47.

Did you know that God loves the Church SO much?! 

It’s important that we remember how much God loves the Church, because it reminds us that not everything is just about us. It’s easy to be a bit selfish sometimes (when we think about ourselves more than others), but that’s not God’s best plan.

The Church is powerful, because it’s where people who look different, speak different languages, or come from completely different places (so, everyone!) can come together and be family. All because we all love Jesus and want to serve Him.

ASK:

Can you think of a time when you were a bit selfish? 

Let’s say we are sorry for those times and think of ways we can think about others more this week.

REMEMBER:

I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way.

What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well. (Psalm 139:14)

SAY:

I Can Thrive

With you in my life.

All you create,

Is wonderful and great. 

I will recall all you have done, 

The battles that have been won. 

I am fearless in my quest,

For I am Born for This.
