Day 3: Joseph – Enduring Trials with Faith
Scripture: Genesis 50:19-21
Key Verse: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” – Genesis 50:20
Joseph’s life was filled with hardship; he was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned. At any point, he could have given in to bitterness or despair. Instead, he chose to trust God, even when his circumstances contradicted the promises he had received in his dreams.
God’s strength was with Joseph in every season, whether in a pit, a prison, or a palace. Because he remained faithful, he was ultimately positioned to save Egypt and the brothers who had wronged him. Looking back, Joseph could see that what others meant for evil, God used for good.
Like Joseph, we will face injustices, betrayals, and unexpected trials. It can be tempting to focus on our suffering, but God is always working behind the scenes. His strength enables us to endure, knowing that even our pain has a purpose. What seems like a setback today may be what God uses to position us for something greater tomorrow.
Prayer Focus: Ask God to help you trust Him in difficult seasons. Pray for the strength to endure trials with faith, believing He can use even the most challenging moments for His good purpose.

About this Plan

Jesus told us that our weariness comes from carrying a burden that is too heavy for us. Instead, we are supposed to give our problems, cares, and concerns to Him and allow Him to give us the strength to do what He asks. He will teach us to do this over the next 30 days because He is humble and gentle at heart. God's word will show us examples of people throughout scripture who put their burdens in His hands and found rest for their souls.
