Strength for Tomorrow

DAY 2 OF 30

Day 2: Sarah – Strength to Wait on God’s Timing

Scripture: Genesis 18:9-15

Key Verse: “Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” – Genesis 18:14

Waiting is one of the most challenging tests of faith. Sarah knew this struggle well. She had waited years, even decades, for a child, watching time slip away, and with it, her hope diminished. When the angel of the Lord told Abraham she would have a son within the year, Sarah laughed in disbelief. How could such a thing be possible?

God responded gently but firmly: “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” Human limitations do not bind his power. Though Sarah had doubted and even tried to take matters into her own hands with Hagar, God remained faithful to His promise. Sarah gave birth to Isaac at the appointed time, a reminder that God’s strength is not just in the miraculous but also in sustaining us through long seasons of waiting.

Remember that God's timing is perfect if you are waiting for a breakthrough. Delays are not denials. His strength carries us even when our faith wavers, and He fulfills His promises in ways that far exceed our expectations.

Prayer Focus: Ask God for patience and trust in His timing. Surrender any doubts or frustrations, and ask Him to strengthen you as you wait for His perfect plan to unfold.

About this Plan

Strength for Tomorrow

Jesus told us that our weariness comes from carrying a burden that is too heavy for us. Instead, we are supposed to give our problems, cares, and concerns to Him and allow Him to give us the strength to do what He asks. He will teach us to do this over the next 30 days because He is humble and gentle at heart. God's word will show us examples of people throughout scripture who put their burdens in His hands and found rest for their souls.
