Day 8: Hannah – Strength in Persistent Prayer
Scripture: 1 Samuel 1:9-20; Matthew 11:28-30
Key Verse: “I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.” – 1 Samuel 1:27
Hannah knew the pain of waiting and disappointment. She longed for a child, but her prayers seemed unanswered year after year. Yet, instead of turning bitter, Hannah turned to God. She poured her heart into the temple, trusting that He would hear her.
God didn’t answer immediately, but in time, He blessed her with Samuel, who would become a great prophet. Hannah’s story teaches us that God’s timing is perfect and that persistent, faith-filled prayer is never wasted.
When we feel unheard or weary in prayer, we can find strength in knowing that God sees, listens, and answers in ways beyond what we can imagine.
Prayer Focus: Ask God for perseverance and trust in His perfect timing.

About this Plan

Jesus told us that our weariness comes from carrying a burden that is too heavy for us. Instead, we are supposed to give our problems, cares, and concerns to Him and allow Him to give us the strength to do what He asks. He will teach us to do this over the next 30 days because He is humble and gentle at heart. God's word will show us examples of people throughout scripture who put their burdens in His hands and found rest for their souls.
