How To Survive THRIVE - Financially

Day 2: Who's The Boss?

How much of your life is taken up with earning money, thinking about money, spending money and worrying about money? Money can take center stage in our lives; demand our bodies, minds and souls. Money can be given god-like status, demanding our allegiance. Pretending to offer status, security, comfort, power and influence. Matthew, the tax collector, records Jesus inviting us to simply decide who or what we will trust in. Money which is here today and gone tomorrow, or God in Whom all things rest. Afterall, the Psalmist declares this truth: “The earth is the Lord's and everything in it”.

Now money is very tangible and present, while God can at times feel far away and  disinterested in our day to day eating, working and sleeping lives. In truth, money enslaves us and God liberates us. Choose whom you will serve. One of the best ways to assert your authority over your things is to live generously. With thankful hearts, give some away. Take stock: how much of the resource at your disposal do you simply give away?
