How To Survive THRIVE - Financially

Day 6: Debt

It is an easy thing to raise the standard of living with bigger and better things, while at the same time reducing your quality of life: Greed or a desire for things now, things that cannot be afforded, leads to growing debt, worry and the resulting drop in one’s quality of life. Many South Africans suffer under a weight of debt and the wise writer of Proverbs suggests that “....the borrower is servant to the lender”, Proverbs 22:7. To thrive financially and raise the quality of your life, examine the debt you are in. Borrow no more! Pick the smallest debt and work a plan to pay it off. This discipline, and win, will help you in the payment of the next smallest debt and will build the muscles you need to get out of debt and be free. Another strategy is to ruthlessly sell everything you haven't used in a year and pay things off. You will have added space and additional margin in your monthly finance. I dare you! Get out of debt as fast as you can.

If you are privileged and have no debt, then pray for those who share this reading plan with you who struggle in this area. Maybe you know someone who through stupidity or circumstance find themselves in a debt trap. Lift them up in prayer by name and watch for opportunities to assist them with advice and courage.
