Jesus Culture - Faith For Your CitySample
An Influential City
Impact:
Paul and Silas were going from town to town planting seeds of the Good News. They were seeing good fruit, but they really wanted go where God wanted them. Then Paul had a vision that led them to Philippi, a “major city” and a Roman colony at that time. It was a strategic commercial location with agriculture, a gold mine, and a medical school. Planting seeds in this area would make sense if you wanted the Gospel to travel all over the world. It didn’t take long for Paul and Silas to get the attention of the entire city. They had the city in an uproar and they were brought before the Roman officials. (Acts 16:20) God wants us to obediently go where He leads, regardless of the obstacles. He wants us to be a catalyst of change in our cities.
As we pray for our cities, take the time to listen to God’s leading. We are a part of God’s plan to reach the world with His Good News.
Prayer:
Jesus, show me a vision of where You want seeds of your Good News planted in my city. Lead me so that I will have an abundant harvest and will influence my city to see You and Your love.
We’ll read about Paul and Silas’ time in jail tomorrow.

About this Plan
Building on the momentum from this year’s Jesus Culture Encounter conference, we are inviting you into twenty-one days of devotion to strengthen your vision for your campus and your city. We developed this reading plan, in partnership with American Bible Society, specifically for that purpose. God wants cities and nations to be saturated in His presence and we invite you to join us as we encounter what the Bible has to say about city transformation.
