Jesus Culture - Faith For Your CitySample
Prosper My City
Impact:
When Jerusalem was destroyed and the people were deported to Babylon, the people didn’t know how to respond. Should they settle down or would they be heading back soon? How did God want them to live with the enemies who conquered them? God used the prophet Jeremiah to answer that question. God wanted them to make the most of their time living with their enemy.
God called His people to “build houses and settle down. Plant gardens and eat what you grown in them.” (Jer. 29:5) God wanted His people to “Work for the good of the cities where I have made you go as prisoners. Pray to me on their behalf, because if they are prosperous, you will be prosperous too." (Jer. 29:7)
Sometimes, we may feel like “prisoners” in our cities and not want to serve or cooperate with our neighbors. God is calling us to bless our enemies though, so that their blessing would increase and overflow into our lives as well. God wants us to bring forgiveness, prosperity and joy to our cities. This attitude of blessing is only possible with God’s strength. It’s a gift that points people to Him as we transform our cities in His name.
Prayer:
Jesus, release an abundant, overflowing blessing upon my city - so much that its storehouses would not be able to contain it. Use your blessing to draw people to Yourself. May millions see that You are the giver and respond by giving their lives to you. Prosper my city with all of heaven's blessings.

About this Plan
Building on the momentum from this year’s Jesus Culture Encounter conference, we are inviting you into twenty-one days of devotion to strengthen your vision for your campus and your city. We developed this reading plan, in partnership with American Bible Society, specifically for that purpose. God wants cities and nations to be saturated in His presence and we invite you to join us as we encounter what the Bible has to say about city transformation.
