DAY 11 OF 15

Have you ever tried to change a bad habit? Or any habit for that matter? It’s not easy! Something that we do over and over again that is so familiar almost becomes muscle memory. We aren’t even thinking about doing it as much as we are just doing it. To stop what we are doing or change that repetitive habit takes an incredible amount of intentionality. Similarly, Paul told the people in his letter to the Romans that the best way to change anything is to be transformed. For that to happen, the change must begin in our minds. We have to think differently to see change in our lives. And to begin to think differently, we have to change what we put in our minds. That’s where memorizing Scripture comes into play. If we want to change our minds, what goes into our minds matters. And God’s Word is a great place to start. Putting that in our minds is what will ultimately transform us into the people God calls us to be.

As we think about the benefit of memorizing Scripture, think about how renewing our minds could be one of the most impactful outcomes that comes from the habit.
