Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample
For he who has died has been freed from sin (Romans 6:7).
Are you among the living dead?
Positionally, we have been crucified with Jesus and sit with Him in heavenly places. You and I are elevated to God’s right hand because of our relationship with Jesus. Our salvation has “raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6). For this reason, God “has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3). Understanding our positional sanctification enables us not to yield to temptation. Paul shares, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
Employment Point: Experience victory over the old nature because of your union with Jesus.
About this Plan
Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
