Christ The KingSample

Christ The King

DAY 2 OF 9

In this passage we read of the familiar imagery of God as a shepherd leader, a shepherd king.  In these prophetic writings of Ezekiel we read the ideas of God as a defender, a protector and a provider.  Shepherds are hardy people, who are strong, resilient and committed to the welfare of their flock, the Lord God is no different. God goes out of his way to seek for us and to shelter us.  His rule is based on this devotion and care for us.

As you pray, pray in thanksgiving for how the Lord has sheltered and protected you, how he has fed you (both literally and spiritually), how the Lord has given you rest.  Pray also for pastors, priests, bishops, the Pope and all faith leaders that they too would embody shepherd leadership based on caring for their flock.

About this Plan

Christ The King

Nine days of prayer (Novena) focusing on Jesus as the Universal King. The Roman Catholic Church sets aside the last Sunday of the liturgical year as the Feast of Christ the King. This study takes each of the readings from the Mass of this feast and explores a different aspect of what the Universal Kingship of Jesus looks like and means for us in our lives.
