Living Wise - Sermon on the MountSample

When you’re on a journey you have lots of choices to make about which way you will go and which path you will take. When we need directions, we look for signs to show us the way. Jesus gathered His disciples and followers on the side of a mountain and taught them about God’s Kingdom, we call this His Sermon on the Mount. Jesus taught about blessings, loving others and how to pray. Jesus taught important lessons that give us wisdom for our lives. Jesus taught that living wise means following the narrow path that leads to life. We need to choose the path that leads us to the right place. If we take the wrong path, we might end up somewhere we don’t want to be.

The important thing about choosing a path to follow, is where that path will lead. In life, it can be tempting to take shortcuts, follow the crowd and just pick the easiest way to go. Wisdom is choosing the right path, the narrow path that leads us to the right destination - life! Jesus teaches us to follow God’s wisdom when we make choices. If we make good choices that obey God, we will be on the path that leads to life. Follow the narrow path.
