A Cry for God, Hope and Help

When we are feeling desperate for God's help, we can sometimes feel He is far away. We feel that we need to beg Him to listen to us or shout loud so He will hear. Do you remember a time that you have ever felt that way? Maybe it’s now? We sometimes make the mistake of thinking that God is like a human who might leave us or not protect us all the time. When you cry out to God, do you know deep within you that He is near? Do you know that He cares, and He is ready to protect you? Do you know that if you live with Him, you are safe and can have hope?

David called out to God “from the ends of the Earth”, feeling that God was out of reach. He wanted desperately to feel safe with God. He wanted to be under God's wing! THEN David declared truth about his relationship status with the Father! He knew he was safe under God's wing. His deepest longing was to DWELL with his Father and be sheltered by Him. He had moved from feeling that God was far away and out of reach to knowing that God was near. He began to proclaim that the safest place to be is with Him.

GO DEEP: Do you feel like God is far away today? Ask Him now to show you how near He is to you. Do you know that you can dwell in His tent forever? He is never far away. He is with you. Ask the Father to show you today what it looks like in your life to dwell with Him and be secure with Him.
