Day One - God’s Way is Best

Welcome to our devotional All Change, we are so happy that you are here with us.  We believe that just like a Caterpillar changes into a Butterfly, we can all grow and change as we become more like Jesus.  Shaking of the old and stepping into the new. 

During this series we will be journeying together through the bible to discover more about creation and how we are created by God, unique and with purpose.  In addition we will follow Jonah on his journey of change and discover how God makes a way for Jonah to make better choices.  Just like a caterpillar changes into a butterfly, we can change too and become more like Jesus.  

This week we are going to be looking at how ‘God’s Way is Best’! 

READ:

‘Jonah and the Big Fish’ in a Children’s Bible or Jonah 1:1-3:10.

Did you notice that right at the beginning of the story it tells us that Jonah was a prophet of God? 

Remember that a prophet is someone who hears from God in order to give messages to people. 

ASK:

Did you know that in the bible it tells us we can desire to have spiritual gifts and one of these is prophecy?  Look at 1 Corinthians 14:1-4 (ICB)

A spiritual gift comes through the Holy Spirit - do you know the Holy Spirit? 

Do you think this is a gift that you would like to receive? 

Remember Samuel heard from God, you can ask God to speak to you too. 

REMEMBER:

Look at the new thing I am going to do.

It is already happening. Don’t you see it?

I will make a road in the desert.

I will make rivers in the dry land.

(Isaiah 43:19)

SAY:

Thank you Lord that you have created us all unique and wonderful.  

Help us to love you and everyone you have placed in our lives and 

to become more like you every day - in Jesus name - Amen.
