Righteous Mediator, Come

In a world filled with division and conflict, the role of a mediator is crucial. A mediator is someone who can bridge the gap between two parties, offering reconciliation and restoring peace. Jesus came to be our Mediator, not only bridging the gap between us and others but, most importantly, between us and God. Through His sacrifice, we have been reconciled to the Father and invited to experience the peace only He can offer.

In Luke 22:15, Jesus tells His disciples that He “fervently desired” to share the Passover meal with them. This intimate invitation speaks to His heart for reconciliation. He desires to be in relationship with us, and through His death on the cross, He made a way for us to be at peace with God. His sacrifice broke down the walls of separation, offering us forgiveness and restoring dignity.

During this Advent season, let us reflect on the grace of Jesus, who came to offer us peace with God. Through Him, we are no longer separated from God but invited into the family of God. Jesus’ role as Mediator invites us into a deeper relationship with Him, where we are reminded of His love and grace. Let us approach Him with gratitude, knowing that He has made a way for us to find our true home in Him.
