Lord, Come

In every season, there is a longing for something deeper than what we can provide for ourselves. Whether in moments of trial or peace, we recognise our ultimate need for redemption—a need only God can meet. Scripture reveals that God alone is the source of our salvation, displaying His eternal power, mercy, and love.

In Exodus 3:14, God reveals Himself to Moses with the powerful declaration, “I AM WHO I AM.” This name, signifying His eternal nature, reminds us that the same God who redeemed Israel continues to be faithful to His promises. As Isaiah prophesied, “The LORD is our Judge, the LORD is our Lawgiver, the LORD is our King; He will save us” (Isaiah 33:22). He is the righteous King, and in Him, we place our trust.

The New Testament shows how this promise was fulfilled in Jesus. In Philippians 2:8, we learn that He humbled Himself, taking on human form and submitting to death on a cross. Jesus, fully God and fully human, bore the weight of our sins, demonstrating God's unfathomable love for us. His resurrection assures us of His power to save.

Today, we say, “Lord, come.” We invite Him to meet us in our deepest need. Advent reminds us that Jesus is our Saviour, our hope for redemption. As we look to Jesus, we are reminded that He has come to restore us completely and will come again to bring full restoration to all creation.
