Messiah

Think of your children’s abilities and spiritual gifts. Then gather your kids together and pray for them, specifically mentioning their gifts. Ask each child to think of one act of kindness that would use his or her gift. “Anoint” or task the child to perform this service during the week.

Jesus was called the “Messiah,” which means “the Anointed One.” God chose (anointed) Him for a special task on earth—to teach us more about God and to die for our sins. God gave Him the power and ability to help many people.

Knowing Him By Name

As Matthew 20:28 tells us, "the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." Families can follow Christ's example by serving others. For each day of Advent, we have found scripture and a family activity or conversation to talk about and show what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus, so that we may all "Know Him By Name."
