Draw Near - PraiseÀpẹrẹ
The story of Moses shows us how he experienced God’s presence in different ways.
When he had been taking care of a flock of sheep, he came upon a bush that was on fire but did not burn up. He drew closer and God, seeing him draw near, spoke to him from the burning bush.
Later, when leading God’s people through the wilderness after God rescued them from Egypt, we read that God spoke face to face to Moses. God’s presence was with Moses wherever he went, and Moses drew near to God.
Moses encountered God’s presence when he went up a mountain and God’s goodness, love, mercy and glory passed by Moses. The next day, God met with Moses again. On the mountain God spoke to Moses about how God’s people should live. For 40 days and 40 nights Moses was on the mountain in God’s presence. When he came down his face was shining because he had spoken with God. The people of Israel were often more concerned about what God could give them, but Moses knew what it was to enjoy being in God’s presence. Drawing near, we enjoy God’s presence.
