DAY 21 OF 25

As humans, we’ve likely all been tempted to take control of our lives. We’ve all attempted to believe it’s up to us. That, if the plan were in our hands and our hands alone, we’d have the life we want to have. In theory, this is a great call. After all, who wouldn’t want to take matters into their own hands? Well, in reality, we know this just isn’t possible. We simply aren’t made to control every aspect of our lives. We can’t move through life with some kind of master plan. Why? Because ultimately, we aren’t in control at all!

While that may sound scary, in reality, it should be freeing for all of us. Because while we aren’t in control, we do have access to the God who most definitely is. The One who has existed before all things. The One who created everything we see. The One who holds the world together. The One who knows the perfect plan for our lives.

Take time today to open your hands . . . literally! Place your palms up and open before the Lord as a symbol of releasing control of your plan and trusting in God’s plan for your life instead.

About this Plan

Rooted

Like a plant, our root system—our identity—is vitally important to our health. It’s how you see yourself in light of God, others, and the world. It’s what holds you when life changes, threatens, or causes you to question what’s true about you! We’ll look at how a healthy identity rooted in who God is will keep us strong, vibrant, and grounded no matter what comes our way.
