The Final Journey

DAY 15 OF 17

Paul in Rome

Paul ministers to those in Rome - not as he had previously done by going to the local meeting places, but from his home as he invites the local Jewish leaders to meet with him. His journey to Rome complete, Paul stays steadfast in his calling to spread the gospel to as many as possible, and experiences peace in the process.

Read: Acts 28:17-31 (NLT)

Explore the Theme: Paul, stuck in house arrest, didn’t let his circumstances deter him from his calling to preach the word of God. He innovated in his approach, offering God’s message to those who visited him, curious to hear more. In what ways might God be calling you to innovate right now?

Ask God: As you examine your current circumstances, are you drawn to resignation that things won’t ever improve? Or are you moved to escapism, thinking a change of scenery would make your situations better? Ask God to show you how you can live the life he has called you to, where you currently are, by spreading his words of hope and encouragement, even if your circumstances look different than how you would have them to be.

Live it Out: What practical steps can you take to remind yourself that God has a plan for you, even if it doesn’t seem incredibly clear at the moment. Ask God to give you joy in your current circumstances, and to show you people in your life who need what you have to offer. Take steps to enter in to those pursuits this week.

About this Plan

The Final Journey

(Part four of a four part journey through the Books of Acts.) Even in (and especially in?) hard times, God is present and is working to build His Church. We can find encouragement in this. When circumstances force us to pivot, we don’t have to lose heart - God is with us.
