Have you ever been in a position where you heard the Lord lead you into something and then feel like He wasn’t showing up? Maybe you start to question if you heard correctly, if perhaps you are doing something wrong. Or maybe you continue pressing on believing what He said to you even when the reality doesn’t match His promise yet. 

I’ve found myself their time and time again. But, in these moments, I am always challenged to trust Him more.

My housemate and I had seen multiple miracles and received a house to rent; however, the house was completely beyond our means financially and we knew living there would require faith and miracles each month. We had lived there for a few months, seeing God move subtly, but a couple of months went by where financially I was short on rent. That’s when I started questioning why He wasn’t showing up in the way I thought He would and wondered if there was something that I was doing to cause lack. 

Then I heard God say to me, “As the sun rises every day, so will My faithfulness to you”. As I processed this sentence with a friend, we started talking about how God only does covenant relationships. Even if for some reason I don’t hold up my end of the covenant, He will always fulfill His end. He will always be faithful to us because it traces back to His name and He will be known as Lord to all men.

As we wrote the song, As the Sun Rises, it so beautifully turned into a song of intercession declaring the faithfulness of God across the world. The simple, yet profound lyrics of the bridge state, “You fight for the ones You love, You win every battle You fight”. When I sing these lyrics, I know I’m to stand firm while trusting and resting in the fact that He will move on my behalf. 

In a couple of Old Testament scriptures where the Lord fights for His people, He says, “See the salvation of the Lord work for you”. Let’s allow our trust to be so secure in the promises of God, that even when the most troubling times hit, we will be able to keep hope alive as we watch God come through for us!

Colossians 1:12-14 TPT

Your hearts soar with joyful gratitude when you think of how God made you worthy to receive the glorious inheritance freely given to us by living in the light. He has rescued us completely from the tyrannical rule of darkness and has translated us into the Kingdom realm of His Beloved Son. For in the Son all our sins are canceled, and we have the release of redemption through His very blood.

Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes. Fix your heart on the promises of God and you will be secure, feasting on His faithfulness. Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life, and He will provide for you what you desire the most. Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust Him along the way you’ll find He pulled it off perfectly! He will appear as your righteousness, as sure as the dawning of a new day. He will manifest as your justice, as sure and strong as the noonday sun. Quiet your heart in His presence and pray; keep hope alive as you long for God to come through for you.
