John Bloom says, “We are strange ‘branches’ that are prone to wander. Staying put in the vine is something we must obey. So why are we prone to leave the ‘vine’ we love? Because we are easily deceived into believing that we are vines, not branches.”

Whether we write, build, draw, or make things—whatever we do—Jesus wants us to yield our gifts to him and depend on him for the next breath. It’s imperative we trust in Christ, lean on him, and draw upon him for power.

Walk with Jesus today. Call upon his grace. He’s the vine; we’re the branches. Apart from him, we can do nothing.
